Ford Laser 2L DOHC RSI 1992 VIN nr LR566602 has blown cylinder head gasket. Can anybody supply repair manual? Answered

Clear instructions on how to go about changing the cylinder head gasket will be greatly appreciated. Car has only 151000km and can still give good service but to have it repaired at garage will not be viable because of the car's age. Only a few of this model were made.

Depending on How bad it is, there may be an alternative.

I have a Nissan Sentra that had 167,000 mile when I purchased. After a few weeks I noticed the Radiator water getting low. I would refill and in a week or so it was missing more water. Not a good sign.

I didn't notice any white smoke from exhaust or anything like that. I took it to a mechanic and he said it did have a blown head gasket. They also said it would be too expensive to repair due to the number of miles on the car.

Seeing as I had just purchased the car and didn't want to spend the money to fix it, I stated searching Google.

I found a product called K&W Head Gasket and Block Treatment and thought I'd give it a try. What do I have too lose.

I followed the instruction except for disabling one of the Spark Plugs and it worked perfectly.

It's been working fine since September 2010 and has 12,000 additional miles on it. Still runs great with no problems.

All I can say is, with 150,000 miles, it's worth a try.

Thank you, I appreciate. 150,000 miles will be super for me. Where do I buy K&W Head Gasket and Block Treatment?

From personal experience I would take it to a garage and get them to do it. You can reduce the cost by choosing a small independent garage rather than a main dealer.

Modern light weight aluminium heads tend to warp when blown and even when skimmed to flatten them i have never found it to be either a long term solution or very satisfactory.

IF you do get it fixed I would sell the car before it goes again!.
