Forum Help Answered

I have joined several forums recently, and was wondering about the "tricks of the trade". How do I upload pictures? Videos? How about links? And what about quoting people? How does that work? Bold, italicized, and underlined words? I'd appreciate it if anyone could help.

Well, usually there is an option to "Go Advanced", or there are a few icons that you can choose for your purpose. Do you know imageshack, or other uploading sites? Imageshack.us has you upload your photo, and you get a link which you add to your forum post. As for quoting, on the bottom left or right of the user you are quoting's post, there is usually a "Quote", or a "Reply", that makes it a quote. For bolding, italicizing, underlining, you can Google the HTML codes to Bold, if there is not already an option there for you to. Like This: Your Text here

Google HTML codes? The most programming I know is the very beginning of Qbasic.

Well, Google could give you some easy pieces of code to implement into the comment. That is if there is no option already to add Bold, or italics, or Underlining.

Check the forums first, if there is an icon for Bold, Italics, and Underlining. There usually is. It is usually above the box that you are typing your message in.

I'm so stupid! I guess you meant to search when you said:
Google the HTML codes to ...

I'll search, though.

> How do I upload pictures? Videos?
. Go to your page (click on your name at the top-right of the page) and follow the links.
.
> How about links?
. Just type them in (https://www.instructables.com/ ) or if you will enclose the URL in square brackets
[https://www.instructables.com/ Instructable&aposs Home Page]
you can add a better link description (notice the space between the URL and description). Instructable's Home Page
.
> And what about quoting people?
. As far as I can tell, the only option is cut & paste.
.
> Bold, italicized, and underlined words?
. See my Orangeboard. (Click on my name at the top of this post)

I was talking about other forums. This one is probably the most user friendly of all of them. Like a forum like this.
