Getting Values From Video Games for Use With Arduino? Answered

Hey all.
I was wondering if there was any way to pull values (such as Ammo Count, Health, etc) from a video game to use with an Arduino board. I'm not interested in modifying them, only pulling the values. I know various keyboards can do things similar to this, but I havent had any luck finding a specific model or resource to tell me how it works. Anyone have any ideas or resources?
For example, I was thinking of an LED readout of my current weapon's ammunition in a Call of Duty game, or a Shift Light for a driving simulator I own.

Thanks!

I would set a video capture card to suck that information and convert it to serial data stream and send it to a display device.

Long time ago I made a uP pixel watch to scan and gather my stock data from the bottom of the TV screen video transmission and display 15 min delay stock info.

It would need to be an add in for the game that sends those values through USB to the arduino. How good are you at programming mods for games?

Never tried, but I've been searching on Google and found a few things that may help, mostly sourced from game hacking sites. I'll post again when I find anything conclusive.
