Gifts for teachers
It's that time of year again, end of the Summer term, and for a lot of kids it's their last few days in school.
#2 Son's teacher runs the school's gardening club, so we bought her a trowel. He wrote a message on the blade, and I dremelled it through to the bare metal*.
What are you (or your kids) making for their teachers?
Post a picture here, if you don't mind looking like a teacher's pet...
*We also wiped over the bare metal with 3-in-1 oil to slow down the rust, since we'd exposed the metal.

I teach a gardening elective, and I must say, that's one cool trowel! On Teacher Appreciation day I got a succulent that produces little pups, which I like because I can root them and share with the next gardening class.

When I was younger (and didn't have 6 or more teachers) my mom would bake banana nit bread more my teacher, bus driver, and speech therapist for me to bring. They seemed to enjoy it. One year, I brought my teacher an ugly pepperoni. He liked it.

You can use some of the codes:
< br >
< em >
< b >
< u >
(Just remove the spaces, and end them with a slash ( < /em >)

Oh, I know, and I use line break html when I'm not feeling lazy - it's just *annoying* to not have it automagically put it.

teachers often leave wish lists at book stores so that the children in her/his classroom have opportunities to read them.

Years ago (when my kids were actually in school) I had a really good source of blank VCR tapes - so that's what the teachers got! I recently heard of a favorite teacher's aide who received a handmade crocheted can cozy - a great insulator and coaster in one, very handy for the upcoming summer. And since my mother was a teacher for years and years, I have to reiterate her plea: something that gets used up, please; and nothing I have to dust!

The kids in my class made stuff for me at the end of june ^^ Although they are only old enough to make drawings and poems I cherish them all :) (even the one of me fighting a dinosaur, that one was epic :D)
