0jtp139 11 years ago there is no specific pan to use. a cakemaker will make a couple few cakes then stack them with some sort of filling. As RavingMadStudios says you definitely want a dense cake or it will crumble from the weight. When you have it stacked, it sometimes helps to freeze the cake and/or let the cake settle for a day before you carve it and decorate it. you can use fondant or gum paste to do the frosting, you could also make chocolate modeling clay. I've don't purse cakes before and used this for the "handles and zipper". Just take your time, you can't rush a cake. Good luck. Oh, forgot, check out the site cakecentral.com they have lots of good tutorials and recipes.
