HP Laserjet Laser Answered

I salvaged a HP Laserjet 2100 printer for parts and want to know if I could use the laser for a cnc laser cutter project, or is it not powerful enough?

The laser doesn't heat ANYTHING, it uses the photoelectric effect to discharge the photo-electrically coated toner drum. Its FAR to weak to heat anything !

Do you not think that if it could then it would cut through the innards of the printer?

Do dvd burners or blue-ray players cut through their prospective innards. No, they do not. Yet they have been used for burning laser projects. I was thinking that powering up or using focusing lenses might be used to create a burning laser. I wanted to know if anyone else had tried it.

No but they are shining on a mirrored surface! In the printer it isn't
