Harry Potter 5 movie opening tonight... Answered

Anyone else going? :D I sadly didn't get on the opening night boat until this year. I got into HP a bit later than most. But I'm also going to the Hallow's Ball that Borders is putting on for the release of the seventh book. I'm going to be partying with a bunch of 8 year olds until midnight. Weeeeeeee!

yeah it is difficult. i have very poor depth perception. people get mad at me when i drive because i want to make absolutely sure that nothing is coming before i pull out. it is a birth defect, so im used to it. i just gradually went blind in it, but i never had good vision to start with.

well i think they would get even madder if you crashed the car and blocked the road for hours and anyway some people just need to slow down and take their time.

so there are some compensations for being on GMT, the movie was great, visually dark and much more atmospheric, SFX were good and the character of umbridge, brilliantly realised, Luna was a small bit too fey for my liking, but she was good for all that. Big book, comparatively short movie so lots and lots of fabulous actors with two line segments, and snape still has the sexiest voice in the world, And surprise (at least it was to me) Daniel Radcliffe is starting to become a bit of a hottie!

Haha, I noticed that in the last movie when Daniel Radcliffe took his shirt off. You shouold have heard the girls in the audience. :D Ron is still my favorite, though.

I hope this is going to be really good. I was disapointed with the first two movies, the third was good, and the fourth was okay. However, I have a feeling that Harry Potter 5 is going to be really good.

The movie really was quite good. I was very happy with it. I'd say it's just as good as Prisoner of Azkaban. :) And thankfully, this one was more coherent that the last - even my boyfriend liked it, and he hasn't read the books. A friend of mine complained about the dialogue, but I thought it was just fine, and in most cases came right from the books. And of course they leave things out, but it wasn't as bad as the fourth movie. That one made me crazy because the house elves were almost completely left out when they were a huge part of the book. Plus, the new Golden Compass trailer played before the movie. And it looks AMAZING! I think I might be more excited about that than anything else right now.

I'm not going until Friday, when a bunch of friends will be in town! I was psyched to hear Luna is fantastic, though, and that Umbridge is sufficiently horrifying. I'm less excited to hear she's handing out magic quill punishments to all and sundry... I love house elves too. They just look sketchy in most movies. Hm. I still have to make my wand! Golden Compass! That will be awesome.

this move is the last book i read. i never cared for the movies too much. they just leave too much out (yes i know, they cant fit it all in). i need to read the 6th book... i figure i may as well finish the series, but im broke and have more important stuff to buy. jessyratfink, have fun with all of the 8 year olds.
