That's what dogs and cats are for. They cover up all kinds of cooking mistakes and make it all gone! And if they won't eat it you know there is no hope for it.

I can't say I've ever seen such a book. I have gotten a few tips from my mom, although I honestly can't quite remember what they were specifically. One had to do with reducing an over-salting of soups & sauces and I think had something to do with sugar, but my memory is fuzzy on it and I'd have to ask her (which I save for spaghetti sauce cooking time, because it's a good excuse to make her feel like she still have something to teach me!)
