Has this site ever had a Halloween Contest? Answered

I am a MAJOR Halloween fanatic and I was wondering if Instructables has ever held a Halloween contest. If so, what are the rules and conditions? What are the subcategories that will be allowed (ie, masks, costumes, props, etc.)?

Yes. All sorts of Halloween related projects are accepted into different categories. You should definitely have a look at the previous entries, some of them are very good.

As has been said, the search bar would have been quicker.

My computer speed would make a glacier look lighting fast. I figured this would be faster.

The search runs on Instructables' server. Your computer only has to be fast enough to display the results.

To see past contests, go to

https://www.instructables.com/contest/

Or, to see them all on one page (at least for now; after another 47 contests you'd have to increase the limit value):

https://www.instructables.com/contest/?&sort=OPEN&limit=200

BUT: Note that the next Halloween contest (if there is one this year, which seems likely but isn't guaranteed) may be different from past contests, depending on whether it's sponsored by someone and/or what ideas the Robots come up with to encourage innovation. We won't find out what the "rules, conditions, and subcategories" are until they actually announce the contest.

If you want to get a head start, you'll have to guess at something general, and then figure out how to describe it so it fits the contest. Or you can come up with a bunch of ideas and then do whichever one seems like the best fit after you know what they're looking for. Or you can not worry about it, just do your best work, and accept that sincere applause from other Instructables participants is actually the best prize of all.
