Help needed Answered

I have been working on something quite big.  I prefer not to say what it is(i will however, unveil the finished item on instructables and show people how to make it).

What I need is a light, strong, and hopefully inexpensive foam.
Any suggestions on where I could buy some or how i could make some would be much appreciated.

thanks

Check out the smooth-on website. They have a wide variety of foams and you can get trial sizes. They are also very knowledgeable about their products.

you could also use extruded poly styrene (insulation foam), it's sold in sheets of various thicknesses and strengths. depending on what you're needing the foam for (making molds, or model making or whatever) you can glue it together and cut basically any shape out of it.

also http://www.smooth-on.com/ has a lot of various plastics, foams, urethanes etc...

You can get a foam that is used to fill/replace gaps in walls, which comes in an aerosol can (comes out like yellow-brown shaving foam).

You could try that.

I'm sorry, I can't remember the brand name. It is an expanding foam (possibly polyurethane based), sold by DIY / building / hardware stores.
