Help with coursework, short survey on teenage drinking? Answered

This is a short piece I am doing on underage drinking for a paper

You need to add some questions regarding the country of the responder, the kind of exposure they have to underage individuals, and the kind of area they live. An individual's family status can also affect their opinion on this subject.

I am a teacher, with pastoral responsibilities, so I encounter it a lot.
I work in a deprived area, where it is a serious problem, yet live in a "better" area, where it happens, but not so publicly.

However, the best answers I can give are:

  • 41
  • "It depends"
  • Any, as long as parental control is clear (both my boys have had alcohol at quite a young age, but they had small amounts, diluted)
  • It is 18 to buy alcohol in the UK, I think that's fine. The legal minimum age to drink alcohol is FIVE YEARS. I also think that is fine, as long as parents are in firm control.
