High Pressure bar - I see potential Answered

Hmm, Browsing The electronics goldmine, I saw this:
http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G17814
Summarized:
High pressure loaded hydropneumatic gas spring. This compression spring has an extended length of 32" with an inner rod diameter of 8mm and an outer cylinder diameter of 18.25mm. The compression force is 360 newtons (80.9 lbs of force) and a stroke of 366 newtons (82.2 lbs of force)

The first person to post an idea for what this can be used for gets a patch! And maybe other people if I like the idea!

What might be rather cool is to either make or modify a coffee table with the spring lift so that you could lift the top to access a secret, hidden storage area underneath. I think it would be an awesome Instructable! (I just don't have the time or room to make it, but that's what I'd do with it, if I could).

Knowing that the description says it was probably made for a Mercedes SLR, you go and search what kind of car it is assuming they never made a camera but if you are familiar with a car, those shocks or struts resemble the lifting devices for a heavy door like found on a hatchback or tailgate but seeing that the Mercedes SLR is some fancy sports car, most likely a two seater convertible that goes really, really fast, it could be the lift mechanisms for a convertible top but on closer inspection drooling looking at images of a real midlife-crisis automobile, it seems to be the lift supports for the gullwing doors.  So what can you do with it? I dunno.
