Home Automation category? Answered

Is there any chance of getting a Home Automation category in the Technology section of the site? A search for home automation yields some results, but neglects microcontroller projects in the home and other things.

Would be a big help!

I think if the site featured a Home Automation section they put themselves into a position of liability if they are seen to be condoning it.

It can be dangerous!

There's a website http://www.automatedhome.co.uk/Content/Wiring-Guide.html
and also look into 'X10' and zero point crossings.

As an electronics engineer I would seriously advise against ANY project which requires use of the mains. Especially one which centres around transmitting data through power lines! Get that wrong and there's serious consequences.

Sorry if links are frowned upon :)

So long as people use tags well for key wording their instructable, you can view things with those keywords.

Here's everything that has the "home automation" keyword attached to it.

This is an easy way to look through things that don't have channels, but you want similar items.  The easiest way to get to this page, is to look at the tags that someone has on their instructable, and click the one that most reflects what you're interested in.

I don't think there are enough "home automation" projects to warrant a whole channel - other channels have thousands of entries.

The microcontroller channel is fine for that kind of thing.
