Home made Tweedle Dee and Dum, costumes... Answered

I'm trying to make Tweedle Dee and Dum costumes but I can't figure out how to make the collars. I was going to sew them and attach to a t-shirt that I will dye yellow. Any better ideas?

I think wht you need would be a pair of "dickies" (shirt collars attached to the slightly stiffened top parts of a shirt, and worn under another shirt). Quick and dirty would be to make the collars out of thin cardboard or plastic, and tape, glue or staple them to the neckband and shoulder-yokes of old shirts from the thrift store that you dyed yellow. Clean and sweet (and perhaps costing only a little more in time and effort) would be to make the dickies out of your yellow-dyed fabric backed with medium-duty fusible interfacing. More-quicker-and-dirtier, if you don't care about a little gaposis at the neck line, would to just make only the collars and neck bands, and forget the shoulder-yoke part of the dickies.
