Home made led light with 5w phone charger watt usage? Answered

I have a led bulb which is 5w and I also have a homemade light bulb powered by a phone charger say also 5w. Question is Am I really saving any energy by using a phone charger unit it states it uses 5w? am I using 5w while is plugged 5w or am I using mAX OF 5W OF IT?
DOES IT ALSO use 5w when it is only plugged but not powering my led bulbs . bulbs 5v 1 amp, 50 leds.
thanks in advance.

Also do you know a way to make a water proof glue at home?

Am i understanding you correct that you try to power 50 1W LED's from a single 5W supply?

Or is the overall consumption of all LED's together 1W?
In any case the power supply will only provide 5W not more and take next to nothing when not in use.

I am only asking; does a 5w power supply use any power while connected vs a 5w commercial light bulb? are there any power savings by making my own 5w bulb with a bunch of leds and a cell phone charger or not?
Does wall marts use any power while not in used like 5w?
thank you for your kind interest to my question.

Any power supply will use power when supplying it.
How much, if any is used in standby mode when just plugged in with no load depends on the wall wart - something we can not answer without the technical data sheet for the device in question.
