How To Make A Hole In Airline Tubing?
I'm trying to make a hole about a millimeter in diameter in the side of a piece of standard airline tubing. I've tried poking a heated needle through the side, but the hole was too small and the heat warped the plastic. How should I do this without destroying the tubing?

one can buy fine drill bits, but if none is on hand, you can make one by grinding a flat on the side of a needle. you basically remove 1/2 the cross section. C|

I'll have to try that and see if it works. Thanks.

A drill bit worked, but not very well. Instead, I took the casing from a disposable ball point pen and drilled a hole in the side of that, which worked much better, and then glued the airline tube to the pen casing.

your drill chuck may or may not close down to somethin as small as a needle (or a mm) you may wanna find a pin-vice (google it, or try hobby store)) Although these are designed to let u drill with just twisting yer fingers, I have used 1 by chucking the needle in the pin-vice, and the other end of pin-vice in my drill.

Have you tried drilling?
I'm pretty sure you can get fine wood-bits down to 1mm.
