How You Can't Report Bugs Answered

There doesn't seem to be a contact route to report bugs on the Instructables website.

Having encountered a very annoying bug, I searched the Instructables website and found in the Forums "How to Submit Bug Reports" at <https://www.instructables.com/community/How-to-Submit-Bug-Reports/>.

That post has a  link to take you to where you can report your bugs. That link is <https://www.instructables.com/community?categoryGroup=help&category=bugs>.

Surprise! That link takes you to .....(drum roll!)....

Which is exactly where you started from.

After about six circuits of this merry-go-round without finding a way to actually get wherever bugs are supposed to be reported, I just decided to post this so everyone else can have as much fun as I did. If they want to.

I think it's a bug, but since I can't find a way to report it, I'll go home now.

Anywhere in the 'feedback' area is where you can post bugs (it's the last grouping of threads in theForums).

Alternatively, you can always contact us by email at service@instructables.com

It is NOT POSSIBLE even though i am logged-in.

I keep getting the LOG-IN FRAME.

I have tried the COMMENT FRAME & the INDIVIDUAL REPLY FRAME

Even though i RE-SUBMIT my LOG-IN INFORMATION it is still NOT POSSIBLE.

I have tried APPLYING for a NEW PASSWORD, but still NO SUCCESS.

COMPUTER SYSTEM :- I am using an ORACLE SOLARIS .... THIN CLIENT

BROWSER :- FIREFOX 28.0

I think you should use LESS or NO FRAMES( if possible ). Plus make INSTRUCTABLES SIMPLER.

Also the WORD PROCESSOR is a headache.I CANNOT COPY THIS

Many thanks and please continue. INSTRUCTABLES is one of my MOST FAVOURITE SITES.

I'm having the same problem, using a Mac 10.9.3 - I am not having this problem with any other website - just Instructables. I keep trying to download a pdf - get the block asking for my user name and password - then again and again. I did click on request for new password to be emailed. When I clicked on the link in that email, I was sent to Instructables, and there I was - already logged in! However, then I couldn't get to the Instructable I wanted to download, because the "search" bar kept loading the pre-programmed words that Instructable had constantly rotating. So, I decided to change my password, which I did. Then I tried to download the Instructable, got the log in block (remember, now, according to Instructables, I was already logged in!) typed in the new password, and again got the login block. And again - into the future.

Gave it one more try - now am giving up and just bookmarked it, hoping I can find it when I want it. The browser is Firefox, 30.0 - want to repeat, so there is no confusion: this problem is only happening on Instructables.

Are you a "Pro" member? PDF downloads are a perk of Pro-ness.

That login issue sometimes happens when you have an old cookie from the last time
you logged in, or having a browser add-on that stops the page from
loading completely. You can try

  • Disabling any script blocking add-ons to your browser, like Ad-Block, GreaseMonkey, or LastPass
  • Making sure you have cookies enabled for your browser
  • Clearing your browser's cache

After, refresh Instructables.com and try logging in again.

As Kiteman said, you have done exactly what you're supposed to do. You created a new forum topic in the BUGS category. That is a bug report.

Er...

This (a topic in the bugs forum) is how you report a bug.
