How can I change the b&w. T.V. that I use for the reverse camera on my van so that it gives a mirror image? Answered

If your B&W monitor is of the CRT type (rather than LCD) you could reverse the Horizontal deflection coil leads on the yoke (coil) in the neck of the tube. You could wire a dpdt reversing switch so you could switch from normal to reverse (mirror) image. The deflection coil usually has 4 wires 2 for vertical, and two for Horizontal.

Is it a factory-mounted camera or one that you put on yourself? If it is set in the bumper or back door, your options will be more limited than if you have it mounted yourself on the rear window, for example. I know you can get a flip module that will reverse it physically, but that requires having access to the camera itself and the tools/abilities to do a bit of a "hardware hack" to set it up, and I don't know if that would affect the camera's effectiveness (FOV, vignetting, etc.). You can probably get a flip converter that will do it electronically on the video end, but I don't know enough about that to say with any certainty.

i don't think that it's really possible (without special converters) to mirror the image without a mirror...
