How can I power my 5V phone with a 7V solarpanel? Answered

Hey
I just bought a lots of 5v zener diodes and I have a solar panel
I want to charge my phone with it.
How do I connect the Zener diode correctly so I Wont damage the phone?
Any schematic on this
Any other components I need?

A 7V solar panel might not do a thing in terms of charging.
500mA is the lower limit to charge a phone and that already takes a few hours.
You need to check USB charging standards (Wiki) for your phone and provide the proper voltages on the data lines to get more than 500mA for the charging.
7V for your panel is in full sunlight and you did not specify the amps it can deliver, better would be a 12V panel that can provide at least 2A with a step down coverter to get the 5V - plus the resistors to provide the voltages on the data lines.
As an alternative you can use 12V car charger on the bigger panel.

do I need to add anything other than the adabter
