How can you edit your site so it lets members talk to other members through webcams? Answered

My current website project requires the member community to be able to communicate through webcams does anyone know how to let them do it?

You need some sort of plugin, probably flash, which does a few things:

handshake to the server to authenticate the user and get both partys' internet info

handshake between the users

access the local webcam information and send it peer-to-peer across to the other person

access remote webcam info and display it on the local screen

the bandwidth shouldn't be to beaucoup++...from the server side it only serves the pages, not the video content, which is peer to peer.

Ah... I didn't realize. That's good to know. My experience is file serving.

Never checked chatroulette out. I'm a bit too self-conscious to do video chat as a general rule, let alone something that I assume is a random connection video chat. When I think about it, I realize about peer to peer, I guess I was thinking multiple users (as in more than a single 2 point peer to peer connection) and assumed that it would be threaded through a central hub, ie, one's website host.
