How do I collect my A2-sized paper without having them rolled when comes out from the plotter? Answered

I am in Engineering section and each time I am printing some map in A2 or A1 size, the paper will cut of the big roll automatically, but there is no machine to pick them nor sort them. the paper falls on the floor rolled. So imaging for 200 sheets that i am printing, I have to take like 2 hours just to sort them up.
I would really love  you to find a way to have the paper comes and collect by itself or one paper falls on the other one when printed.

Thanks

My plotter has a catch rack below the outfeed that does a pretty good job of holding 24 x 36 prints.  At least until it gets 15 or so prints then it starts dropping them.  When the roll is low and the paper is bent tighter it won't catch any of them, so to design something to catch 200 A2 size sheets is going to be difficult.

I would try a tray with sides to catch the sheets as they drop out.  Angle the tray down a little so they naturally slide into it.  The edge that is catching the  sheets will have to be adjusted so the they come out and fall into it each time even after 200 sheets.

When the paper roll is getting low it is going to be much harder since the prints will want to curl as they come out.

A really well designed system would have a motorized roller at the front that would grab the paper as it comes out and guide it into the tray.

You may have to cobble up something  that is adjustable just to get it working and then build the real one later.

Hey- what are you asking us this for - your're the engineer!

Good luck.

It might be easier to hire a student to stand there and catch the drawings as they come out.
