How do I convert RCA portable dvd players slave usb screen into computer monitor? Answered

Well my portable dvd player has died, it says disc error on everything and I unscrewed it and cleaned it all with alcohol, it no longer works so now I've got the second screen for the back of the other car seat, the only input is usb, it's 5v but if i plug it in all I get is a blue screen, if I try to install any of the displaylink drivers it doesn't work with this screen. how do I utilize this usb screen as a second screen?

You won't be able to plug it into USB and have some drivers run the screen. You'll need to open the screen up and figure out what kind of input it's getting from that USB connection. Until you have an understanding of how the player sends video to the slave screen you can't beguine to figure out how to make use of the screen. Chances are the USB connection isn't being used as USB. It may be the player is sending a composite video signal over the data wires of the cable. In which case you would need a system to convert your computer's video output into composite video. You can always test for this with any other device that output composite and try the wires across the data pins on a cut USB cable.

It will only have a video input, not VGA or even HDMI.
You need to find the right wires and connect it to a graphics card with a video output.
