How do I extract the laser diode from a 22x burner without hurting it? Answered

I am building a DVD laser and I was wondering if anyone had any tip(s)/methods on how to remove the diode from the drive without hurting it. If anyone has done this successfully please tell how you did it. The drive below isn't the one I have but similar (brand, drive speed etc.)
