How do I get compost to release methane? Answered

I am hoping to produce some natural gas this year from compost, any tips/experience?

And if you don't mind me asking, how were you planning to use the methane gas?
Do you have the equip. to put it to use, or, did you just want to see if you could make it ?

Check out Afrigadget (http://www.afrigadget.com/) for some great info. You'll have to scroll down the page a bit, more than once, but it is the simplest, cheapest digester I know of.

Put it in a sealed tank, with water.

The process of anaerobic digestion requires no oxygen, and in the presence of oxygen shuts down - giving you CO2, not CH4
