How do I know if I need laser googles for my laser?
How do I know if I need laser googles for my laser? From what MW is it recommended to use laser safety googles?
Are there goggles that fit specifically for a color of a laser?
My laser is a 50MW Green laser
Thanks in advance :)
This is the laser:

50mW would put it into the very dangerous by direct viewing class. Its at least a class 3B laser, even possibly class 4.
You do not mess around with beams like that without eye protection.
Yes, there are colour specific glasses.

So if it is recommended to use laser googles, Do you think I can buy them on eBay?
I don't know because maybe an eBay seller can sell me fake glasses that don't actually work, Which can cause permanent damage to my eyes without me knowing it...
Do you know about how much the laser goggles cost? ~$5-$100, Just wondering
Thanks for your help :)

I'd rather go for proper known goods, you can buy them on Ebay, you just have to be careful.

You never need goggles if you never get any direct or scattered laser light into your eyes.
Since there is no way of predicting this unless all the laser stuff is in an enclosure goggles are always a must have for all laser above the legal "toy" range - and even those cause damage to your eye if you look directly into the beam.
And I really hope you meant 50mW instead of 50MW as otherwise goggles are the least of your safety worries.

Thank you for your answer, I meant 50 milli-watts, Does 50MW equal to 50 Mega-Watts? If yes then... oops... :)

Yes, the difference between capital and small letter can be huge sometimes.
But I was almost certain you meant the smaller variety ;)
Check Ebay, there are some guys selling goggles for 2 or 3 different wavelenghts.
Usually green, IR and CO2.
If you want to go cheap check these paper 3D goggles in red and blue or red and green.
I used a cheap pair of welding googles and fitted two red foils from these googles.
Tested directly with a 150mW green laser and not the slightest green dot made it through.
But do yourself a favour and test the foils before actually using them as there are 2 kinds of them in use.
The bad one is of a slightly different red and lets a lot of green laser light through.
Best are those from red/green goggles - and if in doubt you can use the green foils for goggles to protect from red lasers ;)
