You asked if I would quote my other answer as a normal comment-
I did a yahoo search for anything that might help you out, and I found this video-
http://revision3.com/systm/n64/
I only watched about half the video, so I don't know how specific it gets, but it does a good job telling you what all you need for the project, and where you can get it. Hopefully you find it helpful, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with your N64 :)

I'm not one for shrinking and portable-izing. What I did was hack my PSP firmware (Dark Alex CFW), and run a 64 emulator to play Nintendo 64 emulator on my PSP (and every other console out there).
Answer 12 years ago
This is probably your best bet. It's easier, and most likely cheaper than "portablizing" a Nintendo 64.
Answer 12 years ago
It is not cheaper, and I also don't like psp's. So it is unhelpful.

According to this Instructable- https://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Make_a_Portable_Game_System/ , it takes $200 to make a portable NES. I can only imagine making a portable N64 would cost more, as you're working with more advanced technology, so unless you're getting most of the materials for free, you're looking at more than $200.
How much does a PSP cost? You can get a used one for $120 at gamestop. You're saving AT LEAST $80 going the PSP emulation route.
Answer 8 years ago
no thats not correct. if you would have read it carefully you would've noticed that he said it would only cost about $70 for you. The only reason it cost him $200 is because he broke a couple parts that he had to buy again. So it was only $200 for him because he wasn't careful. If you are careful then it would be about $70 which would be $50 cheaper than you're quoted price for a used psp. pay attention to what you're reading before handing out false information
Answer 11 years ago
It only cost 200 because the author had to buy 2 consoles and screens.

I'm getting most of the materials for free, I have lots of parts. Again, I'm sorry for insulting anyone....

Dude Im EXACTLY where you are. I wanna make one too but the psp emulator for it sucks and i want the original controls for it. I did find a wiring diagram. I signed up here one because i like this site, but i wanted to be able to post that people dont know what they are talking about. countless n64s have been portabalized. its easy if you know what your doing and can be inexpensive if you look in the right directions. Im looking for what i need.
Answer 12 years ago
Yeah, I just need to know what I can get rid of, where I can move it and such. However, no one here helps, may have to go to yahoo! answers anyway...

How about this link? http://moddedbybacteria.wordpress.com/retro-console-system-modding-guides/nintendo-n64-video-guide-log/
This should help. If you need some help in certain places, just check out benheck or modretro or MBB. It helps! XD

I've been to all those sites, and have since found what I was looking for, and thank you.

Ok, here's something you should realize: the technology is basically there. you Just shrink it and enclose it, attach it to a screen. Here's something, anyways. Nes Portable
Answer 12 years ago
I've seen that. However, I want the EXACT instructions. That's for the Nes, which is in my favorites ;D Thanks, though.
Answer 12 years ago
I can tell you're getting frustrated, however you should consider that maybe it just hasn't been done yet. Some of the answers here are pointing you in teh right direction, and that link about the portable NES is pretty close to what you are doing.
Sounds like this community is missing exactly what you are looking for, why not give it a try based on teh information you've got in front of you and see where it goes? It might just work, and even if it doesn't if you make an Instructable out of it you'll help out the next guy with the same problem. Heck someone else might just accomplish it based on your attempt!
Don't lose faith, good luck!

I know, but I don't want to get rid of parts I need.

I've seen something about this,

Really nice mod _
Answer 12 years ago
If you had read the details, I want the exact instructions. This is no help, I already said benheck's forums aren't helping. I guess I'll pick up the book.
