How do I power 4 different 5v components. Answered

Hi.  First time poster.  I love this site.

I am trying to figure out how to send power from a outlet to four TowerPro servos.  Do I need to buy a power supply?  How do amps come into play?  I believe everything is 5 volts.

As in the diagram. This is a LOT easier if you use the correct plug/socket for the servos.

Generally Black or brown are the 0 volts, red or orange the + and yellow or white the signal although this can vary - + is in the middle.

Buy a power supply capable of driving all 4. Add the amperage of all 4 components together and add 25% for start up surge current.

So if component 1 to 4 takes 500 ma you want a 2500 ma supply.

A servo needs a PWM signal, you are not talking about your wall outlet are you?
Because if you are I suggest to get something that is ready to use...
