I am working with the latest gen ipod and an acer aspire one netbook, i have tried e mailing myself and i dragged the pictures to my desktop, however when i attempthe to use them in an instructable it failed to show my image, it just showed a hand, is this normal? i have never made an instructable before and i am confused.

Plug your iTouch into the PC. got to My Computer and you will see the iTouch is being recognized as an external drive. It will be labeled Apple iPod. Double click on the icon, then double click on internal storage, double click on the DCIM folder and the next folder you see after that contains all the pictured. Copy that folder onto you PC and your ready to upload a picture to instructables.

Now from the edit screen on your instructable you'll be able to click on the Select a file button and then navigate to where you placed the pictures and choose the ones you want to upload.

Just wanted to add... The picture quality of an iTouch is lacking IMHO. I used my iTouch to document my Helping Hand With Arm instructable and was disappointed in the picture quality. The images looked great on the iTouch but seem out of focus on a larger screen.

I think the problem you're running into is that your mail program is downloading the photos as a zip file. Make sure this isn't the case
Another option that I use sometimes is uploading the photos to flickr and then in your Instructables profile there is a link to your image gallery. In the gallery you can upload photo's to your account from flickr. Once they're loaded into your account you can access them from your instructable. You used to be able to load from flickr directly from the editing page but that went away with the last major update.
