How do you hotwire a car?
Preferably a Chevy El Camino.I lost my keys and I dont want to pay for a lockpicker or new keys.Help would be nice.

I'm pretty sure that all you need to do is short the leads that go to the ignition key switch

an El camino? those are easy. take a good knife and a skrew driver. get the knife and use it to pry open the ring around the ignition, then stick the skrew driver into the hole that is left.

been a long dam time since I last had to hotwire a ride , and aint too likely i'll be doin' it again very soon either !!

bypass th' ignition switch by runnin' a wire from th' + battery post to th' distributor , then to start th' engine by "shortin'" th' posts on th' starter motor !
To stop th' engine , pull th' jumper wire away fron th' battery !

. Some, if not all, El Caminos use a dropping (ballast) resistor and running straight to the battery will cause premature failure of the coil (and points, if it's old enough).
. Find the ballast resistor (usually on the firewall) and run a wire from the battery to the key side of it.
