I was wondering how to use a picture from google images on an instructable or a guide?

Authors are responsible for their content (meaning that you have to see if an image you want to use has a copyright), and include a link to your source (and/or get permission) if your using someone else's image(s). You can do that on whichever step the image appears, or by adding an "image note" directly to the image.

@author Instructables hosts pictures directly so to prevent ibles from becoming unusable if an external host became unavailable. This means you have to directly download them to your computer, then upload the picture TO instructables, and as such, its important you have permission/copyright - otherwise Instructables is at fault.

Get your pictures from Wikimedia Commons. All the content is free and licensed under public use licenses. You will still need to attribute the picture to the original author, most of the time, but you won't infringe any copy-writes.
