Notice that Eric's orangeboard says: Hi everyone! Since we launched the community help forum category people have been getting answers to their questions faster than asking them here because more people besides me can help. So, if you have a question about the site, check out the Author Help Bugs FAQs Feedback or changing your username. He might not be the best? L

as fat as i know, it requires an admin to delete the account... so sending a pm, which in turns sends an email might be the fastest way. If he put the request in the forums, we would see, but not necessarily be able to do anything.

I agree. But if admins are leaving messages saying "ask someone else" - and have a look at who's still waiting for a change of username - it's probably going to the bottom of their list of things to do?

True... maybe they should have one of the instructables members take over name changes and another handle deletions? (I'll volunteer to do name changes :) )

Very good idea, I'd think they would be happy to outsource name changes to a trusted user, and I suppose that removals would be in the same area, but trusted would be essential to this.

or maybe allow the user to delete their own account... I feel that name changes should be handled by an admin or a trusted user, otherwise you will have users that change their username daily.

Well, users can delete everything they've posted (unless it's in a contest?), so self-termination would be a reasonable option. Still, I don't see the need - I think people are getting nervous about the $ around Pro membership and want to get the hell-out? L

i don't have plans to terminate... so i don't have the need either... but im wondering, the growth of users wanting to leave has been higher it seems lately, im sure part of this is pro accounts, but i don't think all of this is pro accounts. I feel that an easier/faster way should be provided for account deletion.

(I believe your question was answered below) If I may ask you a question Alexisbb, why do you want to erase your account?
