How to Organise a Nerf gun war? Answered

So, soon it will be my 18th Birthday and instead of going out for a meal I have decided that I want to host a Nerf gun war of sorts. A while back me and some friends had a small nerf battle in my attic which was a success-ish. Really what I would like to do is to try to generate some game types as although firing at everyone is fun, I think rules need to be implemented.

I plan to invite around 15-20 people and host it at the local scout hut as I helped out with the Beaver section there for a time. Some ideas I've had are team deathmatch, capture the flag and zombies, if anyone has tried out anything like this any feedback on how it went, or ideas of rules would be great,

Thanks in advance, Jack

Nerf.. and an 18th...

It would be irresponsible of me to suggest that anybody who gets shot has to drink a shot, wouldn't it...?

Go one better. Find a local paint ball range. Far fewer disputes about who got shot and who didn't.

Nice to see that almost being an adult does not mean to loose the kid in you ;)

Just check what games are played in painball matches and forget about the cleaning problem.

My biggest "worry" would be to actually check who was hit - after all soft foam leaves no marks to judge...

I personally would do a CTF ( capture the flag) game.

When I was much younger I played a few games of call of duty and CTF was my favourite game, we have always tried to implement it into our yard games now :)

About rules, the only thing I could think of is if you shoot the flag bearer they have to drop the flag and run back to their respawn point, other than that there isn't much else!

If you really wanted to mix things up with a CTF you might want the teams to choose the oppsing team's flag location - provided they are at least 50m apart (or similar)
