To include a video in your instructable you'll need to have your video hosted somewhere first. Start by signing in to a video hosting site (YouTube, Google Video, and many more) and uploading your video there.

After it's been uploaded, you will be provided with an embed code (ex. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5nAyGBRoE"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5nAyGBR" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>)

Copy this code and save it to your clipboard (ctrl+c). Then in your instructable during editing, there's a button for embedding video, click it and paste your copied code into the box (ctrl+v).

Hope that helps!

you could attach the file via "add images", but do add some compression - (not a 50MB AVI please)

You can't, not if you want it to "play" the way videos do on YouTube. You can upload the video file into your "image library" and then "attach it" like an image. Users can then download the file (.avi, .mp4, .wmv, whatever) if they have the right player on their compuer. If you want the video to be displayed and playable on the Instructable or Question or whatever, then you have to upload it to a server site (YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, etc.), and copy that site's "embed code".

I believe the only way to add video to an instructable is the host the video on a site like photobucket.com or youtube.com then link to it in your instructable.
