Hi,

Why can't I add projects to a collection once the collection is published? Moreover it took a while for me to realize this feature (or bug?) as the graphical feedback after trying to add something was quite misleading (see image below).

Best wishes,

Lars

You shouldn't have any problems adding an Instructable to your collection. What operating system and browser are you using? Do you get the same results with a different browser?

I am using windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I get same error as above on Both IE 11 and Chrome. I am trying to add to my collection called Pallet Builds. https://www.instructables.com/id/Pallet-Builds/

But i can't do anything to it, edit, unpublish, add to it, etc without some kind of error.

Make sure you are logged into the site. Navigate around a bit to see if you get logged out.

Go to the project you want to add to your collection, and hit the "collection" button up top next to the "favorite" button. Scroll to find your collection and add it to it. If you don't see your collection there check in your YOU>Instructables tab>collections button that a collection exists.

If you are having trouble getting collections to behave you may have an old cookie from the last time you logged in, or having a browser add-on that stops the page from loading completely. You can try

-Disabling any script blocking add-ons to your browser, like Ad-Block, GreaseMonkey, or LastPass
-Making sure you have cookies enabled for your browser
-Clearing your browser's cache

After, refresh Instructables.com and try logging in again.

Hi Zelp, It was something wrong with the system/server. I finally asked Penolopy to delete my collection and then recreated it.

https://www.instructables.com/community/Cant-edit-C...

However, this is not the ideal solution, especially when we are talking about large collection...

You don't swap them around, you just add them to whichever collection you need to, or remove them from collections you don't want them in any more. You can add a project to as many different collections as you want.

If you go to your list of collections, and hit "edit" beside the one you want to get rid of, you should see an "unpublish" button near the top-right of the page.
