How to format instructions on the chess playing robot project? Answered

I have been working on the project found on this instructable, and I can not figure out what to enter in the serial monitor. To be clear I have only built the x y, the motor assembly. So the only the code found in the folder in the zip file named motor controller. In other words, my question is what do I enter in the serial monitor to move a piece. Thank you in advance if you can help me with this.

You will be better off putting this as a comment in the Instructable. The author will get an Email to advise them of the comment and you should get a direct answer.

I tried that, but the instructable is 5 years old, and I don't think the author checks his account very often.
