How to merge 2 images together without using photoshop?
I want to know how people merge 2 images together, but most people tell me to use photoshop, which I'd rather not shell money out for. Is there any other way to merge 2 images together?
EDIT- so apparently people are thinking I want to merge 2 images together into some mumbo jumbo sh*t. No. THIS IS WHAT I WANT:

Not what I am looking for. I want something that does this:

- Go to file, then open up one of the images you want to use.
- Go to file, and click "open as layers". Choose the next picture you want.
- Look at the right sub-window, there should be two pictures now. One should be called "background". Click on the picture that doesn't say "background". Then, change the opacity (it's the slider above the picture list).
And there you have it! Here's an example picture. Hopefully this is what you were asking.Answer 10 years ago
The effect you have demonstrated is not what I want. Something like this is what I want:

Download Gimp. It will let you work with photos and do what you want' AND it's free.
Answer 10 years ago
Tell me how to merge 2 images with GIMP because I can't figure it out for the life of me.
Answer 10 years ago
ifd you click open as layers with both images you may need to erase parts so it show through

There are a host of free "photoshop" type programs. Paint_dot_net and gimp are two that comes to mind. I prefer Paint.Net
