I am looking to buy a gp2x to write applications for, and these are the other languages that it will accept, Assembler CACK Fenix Pascal GLBASIC Python Ruby Sdlbasic So what should i learn first, C++ or the other ones, an if you answer could you point me to a good book or guide?

That is a mighty ambitious list you have there. You should start at your own level where you either have some working knowledge or at the very least, an interest above the others. SKIP WIKI WEBS ALL TOGETHER! It is soooooo boring!!!!

START HERE--- free developer program and full access to anything you want to learn... http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/beginner/default.aspx
Have fun!

Yep, I'd say C/C++ is your best bet for programming gp2x hardware, but it's a mighty ambitious goal to learn C, and simultaneously learn a low-level hardware interface. The SDL is in C -- not surprising given the gp2x runs Linux...

Most of those other languages are scripting (with the exception of assembler, which would be a challenge, for sure.)

There is a simplified Python gaming environment called pygame that might let you program simple games.

Here's a wiki with dev tutorials for the gp2x.
