How to share my Cable Broadband internet connection with my Phones through USB-wifi-router? Answered

I use internet in my PC which is a Cable Broadband Connection, and I have a USB wifi router of TP Link.
I have created my PC a wifi Hotspot by installing that wifi router, and Phones are getting connected with it. But, phones are unable to use internet that I am using in this PC.

Is it because, I am having 2 different connection or, network system?
if it is, how can I share my cable broadband internet with my phones?

FYI, I am operating an iPhone and a Android.

Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

Thank you.

My USB wifi router model is TP-LINK TL-WN727N, and you can have its full specification over here http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WN727N

My OS is Windows 8.1, and I use TP-LINK wifi driver to make my PC wifi hotspot. There is a option called SoftAP, what makes it easy to make my PC a hotspot.

But, in my Control panel > Network and Sharing center, it creates 2 different networks. 1st one is for Broadband connection and 2nd one is for Wifi router network.

My phones are getting wifi from my PC, but not the internet. What to do now? :(

Thanks for the info. It seems to me that you need to enable internet connection sharing (ICS) on your PC. Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections. Then right-click the network adapter that’s connected to the Internet (Broadband?) and click Properties. Click the Sharing tab, select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection, choose the "Hosted Network Connection" (mine appears as a Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter called Local Area Connection *2) from the drop-down, and click OK.

I personally set up a private hotspot using an administrator command prompt (right click cmd and run as administrator) then set-up ICS (but I assume your driver software has sorted this???) if you would rather try manually setting up your virtual access point - see below... (although first try setting up ICS with your driver software's virtual AP mode)

You only have to set the network up once...

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NETWORKNAME key=NETWORKPASSWORD

Then to start your wifi hotspot use... (you'll need to start it every time you reboot or wake your computer - I simply use a script)

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

To stop...

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

More info or to refresh...

netsh wlan show hostednetwork

netsh wlan refresh hostednetwork YourNewNetworkPassword

But I really think your issue is ICS... if you share your broadband connection to your virtual wifi then your devices should get valid local IP addresses and be able to access your PC's internet.

Let us know how you go.
