I Organized the Christmas Advent Calendar, What else can I do?! Answered

So, the Christmas Advent Calendar was a lot of fun and for the most part a big success. There are a few things I would change to make it more efficient for next year though. I was wondering, to all of the instructables staff that read this, is there anything else I can do for instructables? I would really like to help out because instructables is my favorite DIY site and I want to see it get even better! Thanks for reading!

What other holidays have "days of"?

Speaking from the UK, it's an Olympic year - maybe a collection of Makes based on Olympic sports?

Or what about a calendar of projects, one per month? Or create a huge guide with your favourite project of each week of the year?

Perhaps, but I was thinking more of something like the gift exchange. I posted a forum topic about it a while back but was kinda turned down. I was thinking that maybe since I kinda proved myself, with some help, I could organize another gift exchange. Well, thanks for the ideas!

That kind of "official" event is usually organised by Staff, but I know your advent calendar was well-received by HQ, so maybe drop a PM directly to Canida or Scoochmaroo.

As far as I know, though, the gift exchange was not entirely successful. I know that at least one participant did not get anything in exchange :-(

Oh, that kinda sucks for that person that didn't receive the gift. Although, I had a different idea so I'm not really focused on the gift exchange right now anymore.

My new idea is an arduino challenge. Basically, I pick out 10 commercial electronics items, and then 10 people sign up and pick one each. They have to recreate the item they chose using only an arduino to control it. The use of external chips or micro-controllers a is prohibited.

Well, thanks for the help Kiteman!

Sounds challenging - run it by HQ, see if they can offer any endorsement.
