I don't understand pro pricing at all
I've gotta say, I don't get the pricing for pro at ALL.
You can pay $1.95 a month, every month.
You can pay $2.95 a month, every three months.
You can pay $39.95 for 24 months, one time.
Now, this may just be me, but I see exactly 0 reasons to go with door No. 2. It is the worst of all possible worlds. Why on Terra would I as a new customer pay another dollar a month over the first option (setting aside the third option, maybe I'm not sure about the site or just don't have 40 bucks to blow)? Is it for the privilege of only paying 3 times a year as opposed to 12? Am I paying all that extra money for more patches or something?
IDGI: what am I overlooking here? Enlighten me...

The first option is billed annually, not monthly. The second is billed quarterly (every 3 months).

>D'oh!< Every 3 months of course.
But I still don't understand the why...?

Yeah.... I don't get it either.

The more you pay at once, the more you have committed to the site (and, presumably, the more likely you are to stick around) so this is rewarded by lower costs. Given the correction to the payment frequency of option 1 it actually works out at
$2.95/month in 3 month chunks (minimum spend $8.85)
$1.95/month in 12 month chunks (minimum spend $23.40)
$1.67/month in 24 month chunks (minimum spend $39.95)
It's the same principle as contract phones costing less per month than PAYG- the difference is merely incentivising a longer duration membership.

Maybe they were hoping no one would find out?
(Good job, you ruined their plans! RUINED!)
Also according to my (terrible) math, the third option is only about 1.07 a month. I could be wrong though.

$1.66458333 pcm.

I rounded.
Reply 11 years ago
...badly!
Reply 11 years ago
Isn't 1.66 rounded the the nearest tenth 1.07? (Or should I have rounded the the nearest hundredth?)
Reply 11 years ago
. I bet your Math teachers are soooo proud.
. Rounding to the nearest tenth gives: 1.7 (Rounding to the nearest hundreth yields: 1.66)

Lol. Who said I paid attention? (I would hope they're proud. I got a B overall)

Reply 11 years ago
They gave you a B? Now I'm concerned for the grading system.
(I jest of course)
Reply 11 years ago
Lol. Actually, it was weird. You got a B for what a C is, C for what a D is, ect.
Reply 11 years ago
Strange. So they gave more for less. Like a mediocrity sale. (I'm in the same boat though, I barely made my way through high school).
Reply 11 years ago
Yeah, High school is going to be FUN...Academically of course. Friend and experience wise, it'll be great I'm sure.

I haven't looked at this for a long time, but either your're getting a bum-deal on quarterly, or you're getting the best deal? Can you screenshot this?

It could be the bank's admin charges for only having to remember to do something three times a year?
