I got a new computer! Answered

It's been a long time since I've had either the newest or the "most powerful" computer in the household, so I feel like bragging a bit. Mac-Pro 8-core 2.8Ghz, 10G memory. It'll have about 2TB of disk (320+750+500+500) once I've moved things around...

Ack! It just EXPLODED. Ok, that's some exageration. It issued a loud pop and a suspicious smell from the power supply area, and went dead :-( I'm bummed. It hasn't been a good week...

Oh no! Hopefully it's only the power supply and can be fixed. :( That's awful!

Cool! I wanted one too, but, I have a very tight budget and live in a very tight space, I will still have to stick to my little mac laptop computer...

Ha, didn't have enough money left over to upgrade the 13"CRT green screen monitor? Only kidding. Is it set up in some RAID configuration? If I had that much data on a drive, and sometimes they fail without backup, I would cry...

Raid doesn't work so well with mixed drive sizes. I do backups. Since the majority of the used space is apps (don't need backed up very often), video, and pictures, it's pretty easy to keep the stuff that actually changes frequently backed up...

Wow! That must of cost you a heap load of money. I just went on Apple.com and configured a Mac Pro using your configuration and that hit $5000, probably even more! Like Linux, I also want a MacBook Pro.
