I have a 12 volt regulator that frequently resets. How do I prevent it from reseting and keep the regulator going? Answered

Even if a regulator is rated at... say ONE ampere... it will require a heatsink to operate if very much current is demanded by the load. Also, the higher the input voltage, the hotter the regulator will get. Also, steve is correct in his guess about possibility of an overload (short) on the load of the regulator. (the load is whatever the regulator is powering up.

Good point about heatsinking. A regulator will shut down if it gets too hot

Its probably resetting because its overloaded. Remove the overload.
