I need help with my downgraded Acer Extensa 4420, downgraded to XP. Can;t get graphics to be recognized with ATI. Answered

I finally got XP to install on my Acer Extensa 4420, that comes with Vista on it, but I've run into a problem. I have been going through the drivers, and some don't install, here is one of them. I can't update my graphics card, it wont even install Catalyst control!My card is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1250, integrated and whatnot. Please help!?

try uninstalling whatever you have on now and reinstall xp

The problem is that your drivers were written for Vista, and are not backward compatable. I believe what you are looking for is the Catalyst 6.11 driver, which has the control as well as the video card driver in it. The driver will probably be a general version that is a couple years old, but it is probably the newest generic version that is compatible with your hardware and XP at the same time. Try doing a search for it, and read up.

I actually downloaded a driver updater that my parents were subscribed to to search for my latest drivers and compatibility. That worked, using Driver Genius. I have actually successfully gotten XP installed with all my drivers, it works now, much better than vista did.
