I want to build a multi-voltage power supply? Answered

I want to either build or buy a multi voltage power supply.  One that will deliver 12V to one device while simultaneously supplying 6V to another.  Any suggestions on where to go?

You need to tell us the current you intend to draw from each supply. Artificial is right, as far as it goes, but if you want 20 Amps at 6V the answers are different.

Start with a 12v adapter, and then you can supply the 12v from that straight to the 12v device.  For the 6v use the 12v adapter and then use a 6v regulator(the number would be 7806) to regulate it to 6v.  Since you are powering 2 different things you should probably get a higher Ma(milliamp) adapter.  The whole setup would roughly cost $5.  See image for schematic.
