I want to do some wood fired pottery anyone know a good clay for this I dont want my piece to crack ?
I am actually trying to fire my pottery in a metal trash can/ brick rig any suggestions either about type of clay or different make shift kiln would be great

I have a couple of questions. Are you bisque firing your pots first? If so, any stoneware with grog will most likely survive (70% or so chance). If you are firing greenware ( raw unfired clay) however, All bets are off. Be prepared for 50+ % falure rate. Do you have more details about your kiln?
