I want to make a mobile to hang 1000 origami cranes. What structure should I start with? Answered

I has bamboo poles. Fishing line string. Paper cranes and beads. How can I make the bamboo poles work as a mobile art piece?

I think fishing line string is too strong, and too hard to tie knots in. I suggest using thread, like the kind used with a needle, to repair clothes.

I also suggest using 4 bamboo poles attached at their centers, and spread apart to make something resembling a wheel with 8 spokes, when viewed from looking down on it from above.

Each of the 8 spokes has 4 sites for attaching a thread end. That is 32 thread ends total, for 32 strings hanging vertically.

Each thread will have to contain, an average of, between 31 to 32 paper cranes, suspended vertically, all on the same piece of thread.

I don't know if you noticed, but 32 strings multiplied by 32 sites per string, gives 32*32 = 1024 places to attach a paper crane, which is more than enough sites to attach 1000 paper cranes.

Upon request, I can draw you a picture of this arrangement.

By the way, are you using the word "mobile" in more than one sense? Like first as a noun, "I want to make a mobile...," (an art piece with pieces suspended on strings) and later as an adjective, "...a mobile art piece" (capable of being transported from one place to another) ?
