Ideas on how to make this lamp? Answered

Hey! I'm starting a new project, but don't really know ~where~ to start.

Basically I'm trying to make a "crystal formation" style lamp. I want it to be quite large, and look as realistic as possible.
I'll attach some images of the shape I am going for.
Anyway, I'm not sure how to start. If I was to use resin style molding, how could I achieve the crystal shape? Or would there be better ways?

I'm an amateur at this, so any advice would be wonderful! How would you guys do it?

Thanks.

You might be better off going to find a rockhound to search for a real mineral sample or find a glassmaker with broken samples to use. Casting something like that out of resin is difficult, especially with larger sizes and the optical properties wouldn't be as interesting or nice. Good luck.

yeah that's a good idea, there's actually a glass forge in my town center! I think the problem with trying to find a real mineral would be size, as I want it as a floor lamp (quite large & dramatic) Thanks!
