Ideas to recycle/upcycle ceiling fan? Answered

I have a ceiling fan/light in good shape (had to be removed to accommodate a loft bed) and would like to recycle its parts. A search turned up little (wall art and an umbrella stand, not much more).

Any ideas?

I had seen on youtube a long time ago an guy that took the motor and rewired it and used it as a windmill to produce power. I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find it.

I found instructions online to make a windmill, but there are a few problems. The blades are too large for an efficient windmill and the skills & knowledge needed are beyond me at the moment. I don't think it would be worth it to learn, either considering that I live in an urban area and would probably not be able to use one that size.

That said, that's the *kind* of suggestion I'm looking for. :)

From what I read you don't use the blades, you need to make your own out of PVC pipe. But I under standliving in a urban setting and not doing this. Just giving you something to think about and research if intrested. Good luck in your search.
