Inexpensive glow in the dark writing
Desired effect:Paint a Wall or furniture write on it or draw then it fades 1 less than a minute then you can draw again
Materials:
-1 UV LED (low power any chinese anti fake bill keychain will do)
-Any surface
-Common glow in the dark paint or powder
Low grade Zinc sulfide glow in the dark paint
(or strontium oxide aluminate glow in the dark paint )

- We have to find a way to lower the performance of the compounds so that they glow for 10-40 seconds maximum instead of hours.

Constant exposure to infrared light will make green ZnS glow for much less time, especially as IR intensity increases. In other words, IR can quickly release the stored photons in ZnS. IR can be used as a glow eraser.

The ZnS you have may be good enough,
or the phosphor used in old radar screen tubes maybe what you want.

You need a product called Zinc Orange from Glow Inc. (www.glowinc.com) It is bright initially, but fades very quickly.
