There is a separate power connector that needs to be pluggded in in addition to the main one. It varies depending on the mother board. Older power supplies don't have these as this is a relatively new thing. With out it the board will not power up.

First order of business should be to have a speaker connecetd to the board so you can hear the post error codes....
And with your request there is little help as far more info would be needed.
Like Steve said: Does the power supply actually work?
Was it connected correctly to the main board?
Is a graphics card installed or onboard only?
Harddrive connected or SSD?
Was the used hardware know to work before you put it together?

Even if it does - is the thing plugged into the thing in the wall where it hurts when you poke wires in?

Do the fans attempt to start as you power up ? Do you know you have a working power supply ?
